"There are songs that you hear on the radio that you like to happily hum along to, and then there are songs you hear that are burnt into your brain till your final breath. An example would have to be "Maneater" by Hall & Oates. Now that was a cracker tune wasn't it? Like how intense is it that there is some woman out there who is literally eating unsuspecting males after dark. Its great to sing along to (especially the "whhoo-ooah here she comes" bit) but as the years pass you soon realise this is not the case. Then however you have a track like "sympathy for the devil" from the Rolling Stones. A band that would scare even the bravest 4 year old, but suddenly now they have Lucifer up front on lead vocals, preaching about the end of days all the whilst dancing along to a catchy samba beat. Ummm, hello, excuse me mum but are these nappies reinforced? Like, its just too intense, and was written back in 1968 no less. Still 20 years down the track ill hear it and feel the sudden urge to repent all my sins."
